Choose a retained VLC desktop release and download the exact installer from VideoLAN’s version archive. VLC.ONL stores the version, filename, size and published SHA-256 checksum, but does not modify or wrap the file.
Retained stable VLC releases
The monthly release check adds a new stable version without deleting earlier records. Start with the current VLC download page, use the Windows architecture guide or identify an Apple silicon or Intel Mac before choosing a file.

The catalog reads VideoLAN’s official stable-release status and exact archive checksums. VLC.ONL retains old catalog entries when a newer release appears. The binaries remain hosted by VideoLAN, avoiding an unofficial repackaging or incomplete software redistribution.
