Find and Download Subtitles for VLC
Search by movie or series title across the JustSubtitles and SRTFiles catalogues, then open the original source page to choose the right language and release.
Search the subtitle directory
Use the title printed by the film or episode, not a folder name. Add season and episode numbers for a series, then verify the language, release and frame rate on the source page.
Load the downloaded subtitle in VLC
Keep the subtitle beside the video and give both files the same base name when you want VLC to find it automatically.
Or open the video, choose Subtitle, then Add Subtitle File, and select the downloaded file.
If dialogue and text do not align, use the VLC subtitle delay calculator before trying a different release.
What this directory does
VLC.ONL matches a scheduled metadata catalogue from JustSubtitles and reads the allowed SRTFiles search-results page. It stores only source-page metadata. It does not crawl subtitle downloads or permanently archive subtitle files.
For a different local-media task, open the free video tools. If VLC is not installed yet, choose the correct build through the official VLC download guide.
Provider and rights
Availability, file ownership and permitted use are controlled by each provider and applicable law. Only download and use a subtitle when you have the right to do so.
